Games That Got Delayed to 2027 and Why

Plenty of games dodged late 2026 and landed in 2027. Plans can move again, so this is accurate as of Oct 16 2026, and I only repeat reasons the studios gave.

Now dated for early 2027

Fable (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Feb 23 2027). It slipped from 2025 and then from fall 2026. Xbox said the game needed its own moment, and several outlets read that as dodging GTA 6.

Metro 2039 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Feb 4 2027). Deep Silver announced the move from 2026 in June. I couldn’t find a stated reason.

Window only

Lords of the Fallen II (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, PC, Q1 2027). CI Games said feedback from Souls-like veterans called for more polish. It also said the new window avoids a highly competitive holiday period.

Later and undated

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, 2027 at the earliest). It moved from 2025 to early 2026 and then off the 2026 calendar. Paramount Games Studio says the team needs more time.

Ontos (platforms TBA, 2027). Frictional Games delayed it, citing the depth of its story and gameplay.

The Wolf Among Us 2 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, 2027). It was planned for 2023, and Telltale said it needed more time.

Not 2027, but the reason

Grand Theft Auto VI (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nov 19 2026). It moved from fall 2025 to May 26 2026 and then to Nov 19, with Rockstar citing polish. Studios mostly don’t name it, but dodging the holiday window is the common thread.

A note for a computer from 2017

My computer from 2017 can’t run new games, so a delay doesn’t change much for me. It just gives me more time with older, lighter ones.

Would you rather get a polished game late or a rough one on time?
