Phantom Blade Zero (Oct 29): Why Everyone’s Hyped
Phantom Blade Zero launches Oct 29, and dates can still move, as this one already has once. This is accurate as of Oct 16 2026.

The studio (PS5, PC). S-GAME is based in Beijing. It revealed the game at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023.
Why people care
Combat (PS5, PC). It’s a wuxia action RPG built around blocking, parrying and dodging, with more than 50 weapons.
Story hook (PS5, PC). You play an assassin named Soul who has 66 days to live. Side quests change which of the eight endings you get.
Donnie Yen (PS5, PC). He worked as a creative consultant and plays the character Mó Yuan.
Difficulty (PS5, PC). There are four options, including 66 Days, which ends your run at your 66th defeat.
Wishlists (PC). It passed one million wishlists within about 15 days of its store listing in December 2025.
Caveats
PC requirements (PC). Minimum is a GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB, an i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM and an SSD, aiming for 1080p at 30 fps with upscaling on. Recommended is an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT for 1440p at 60. It uses Denuvo, and the install size wasn’t published when I checked.
Reviews aren’t out yet, so the hype is expectation, not a verdict.
A note for a computer from 2017
My computer from 2017 can’t run new games, and the minimum spec above asks for an SSD and a GTX 1660 class GPU. I’m watching this one from the sidelines.
Are you a parry-everything player or a dodge-everything player?
